Hello internet.

I don’t know if I ever bothered the About me section of this blog but here’s a few tidbits. I live in Vancouver and am a web/software developer. I’m originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario as is my girlfriend Brianna. She moved to Vancouver with me but has had a hard time finding a good job. She’s never had trouble with this before. From talking to people I get the sense that the job market isn’t so hot in Vancouver if you’re not part of certain in-demand professions. There are, however, jobs out there but it seems you just might need to be as loud as possible to stand out from the crowd.

In an attempt to help I did the only thing I know how to do: make a website. I enjoyed designing this as I haven’t done much design lately. Hopefully he helps!

I just found this in my drafts. I have no idea what I was doing. Drunk most likely.

I just realized that last night I had a dream where I owned one of those straight rimmed baseball caps with a sticker on it. In the dream I also got a little drunk (yes, I drink in my dreams) and in my stupor I decided to bend the brim of my baseball cap. In doing so the sticker also peeled off. I woke up this morning with feeling stupid that I had ruined my cool hat.

The funny thing is I’ve never had a hat like this nor have I ever thought of buying one. In fact, it’s not really my style at all. If for some reason I had a hat like this I would likely bend the brim and remove the brim and be happy with that. Why would I suddenly think like a different person in my dream?

Also, this morning I woke up without my watch on. I haven’t taken my watch off in months. When I saw it on my desk I suddenly remembered waking up in the middle of the night and feeling as if my whole body had fallen asleep. I jumped up, turned on the light and started frantically removing my watch. I remember believing that my watch was cutting off the blood supply to my entire body and feeling like I was going to pass out.

First off, I’m not complaining about any of this. I don’t give a motherfunk. Here’s what I’m wondering: do you think sometime in the next few decades we’ll “regress” back to a form of safe, clean, 1950′s style media? Not necessarily because of any type of interception on the governments part or any personal or religious beliefs, but just as a trend? I really don’t think we can push the shock value any further. Just because we’ve accepted this type of media now doesn’t mean it will always be cool, right? Wait… is it even cool now? I think I heard a lot less cussing and a lot more boo-hoo emo lyrics in that last Eminem song…

Ok, let’s take it a little further… Will my grandkids look back on these few decades and say to me, “Holy lollipops Grandpa! What was wrong with you all back then?” I think they might (and then it’ll come back and be cool again). I remember when I was about 14 and I had to watch Grease in music class. I hated it. It was clearly a lame family type thing in my eyes but my mother told me it was actually really cool (groovy) with teenagers when she grew up. Granted, the whole cheesy musical thing is popular again amongst some teenagers but when I was 14 it was all about Nirvana.

Holy shuttlecock… the kids are into cheezy musicals again? It’s already happening…

Every morning my mom and sister would wake up singing this song. It was so annoying I would jump right out of bed and go to school. Then I would sleep on my desk as the class watched some shitty Christian movie or listened to Creed.

I just moved to Vancouver and decided I should get a mobile phone. After doing some research, some thinking, and some asking around I decided I would go with an iPhone. The very next day the iPhone 4 is announced. Now I would feel silly buying a 3GS because supposedly the iPhone 4 will be the same price as the 3GS with a 3 year contract. I guess I’ll have to wait.

I attempted to take an HDR photo of our Christmas tree. It didn’t work out too well, so instead I just played with what I had to make a somewhat surreal image. Merry Christmas!
